Which Georgia Tech students will be graduating next?
Posted August 11, 2018 05:00:00The first graduating class of Georgia Tech graduates this year is on track to have a total of nearly 1,000 students.
The program’s president, George A. Martin, said the class will have nearly $3 billion in investments by 2035, which would create a total employment benefit of more than $1.8 billion for the state.
Martin said that the graduates of the first class of students, which will begin arriving in the Georgia Tech campus by June, will have a diverse set of backgrounds and have a strong sense of purpose.
The graduates of these classes will bring new talent to the state’s economy, he said.
In addition to being one of the nation’s most elite schools, Georgia Tech also has a significant diversity of cultures and backgrounds.
The school also is home to the U.S. Military Academy, the University of Georgia, and the Georgia Institute of Technology, and has about 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
In 2017, it received more than 1,500 applications for the job of chancellor.
Martin also praised the students who are graduating this year.
He said the school’s graduates will have the opportunity to contribute to a strong economy by making the transition to a new business.
“It will be a big leap forward in the way Georgia Tech does business,” he said during the commencement speech.
“The new economy will be more entrepreneurial and more innovative.”
