Online Homeschool Programs Guide – HSN program guide
The HSN is a state funded, online homeschool program designed to help parents with their kids in an affordable way.
In 2018, it was designed to be the state’s primary online homespun program, with more than a dozen online programs offered by more than 30 schools in 10 states.
As the number of schools participating in the program increased, so did its reach, said the HSN’s executive director, Melissa Ritchie.
For those looking for a state-supported program that can be tailored to meet their needs, HSN programs are available for kids aged from 3 to 18, from 6 to 17, and from 6-12.
“If you’re looking for programs that are tailored to a specific age group, there’s no better program for that,” she said.
The HSN was designed with the goal of giving parents and kids an easy, affordable way to connect with a local provider, said Ritchie, who has been running the program for the last two years.
Ritchie and her team are constantly seeking to expand the program and meet the needs of parents, including those who have never had a home schooling program before.
With the increased number of participating programs, the HNSA is seeking to increase the number that are available in states that are already fully implemented, such as Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
HSN programs have helped more than 12,000 families through the years, said Ryan Dominguez, the program director for the National Home Education Association.
One of the HSTA’s goals is to increase access to the Hnss program and expand it to other states, which can lead to new, higher quality programs.
“It’s really important that people know there are options, there are programs out there that can help with the needs that they have,” Domingez said.
“You know, the only thing that stops us from expanding the HSS to other parts of the country is if there’s a lack of support.”
